I also did this getting her used to the clippers. At first I didn't have a clippers so I used my Sonic toothbrush (not the brush part, only the handle) and kept running over her body and head until she got used to the sound and vibration. Eventually I found a small, cheap Wahl clippers and did the same thing to her. Now she usually doesn't flinch at the groomers and is more relaxed.
Just be consistent and keep brushing. I know trying to brush a squirming puppy is hard but keep in mind it's for the puppy's own good.

I would suggest getting a spray bottle with water and some conditioner in it. Spray the tangles before attempting to brush or detangling them. The conditioner helps them break apart and more manageable. Plus it is much easier if you have the right tools. I have included the tools that I use to groom my four Yorkies and how each of them should/can be used.

Plus, if your groom says that shaving your pup is the only option than you need another groomer!!
