While it is always best to keep them with their mom as long as possible, I think it is still better that you go ahead and take Bear in early rather than have him staying at a house with people who aren't going to take care of him. At least you are well educated and do have other pups to help with him.
I won't say my opinions on BYBs, as you are well versed on the dangers of doing that and you are the one that will deal with anything that comes from it. I will say that I pray Bear is healthy and happy for a very long time with you and Teddy in his new loving home
