So sorry to hear that your husband has been duped...but, from the sound of your post, he wanted a nice present for you and did not do research about the breed and the breeder. You say that the color is changing, which is the usual way for a Yorkie, or a Silky or an Aussie Terrier to develop their adult coat. It sounds as if you should either take the puppy back to the breeder if you absolutely cannot bond with it (but, I doubt that is the case and she has already stolen your heart!) There are many places to learn about the breed and what you need to know to select a breeder and a puppy. Please learn all you can before you buy another Yorkie if you decide you are still looking for a small one. The breed standard is available several places and it sounds as if your dog is already almost twice as tall as the standard..you don't mention the weight so she probably weighs a lot more than 7 pounds.
I hope you will just keep that baby and love it with all your heart. After all, more than one Yorkie is a VERY common thing amongst the members on here...
BTW, welcome to YT
