Stay off the foot....elevate the foot anytime you are sitting down....alternate ice packs and heat packs for the swelling...There could very easily be a hairline fracture in that ankle or you could have torn a tendon. I would not put much confidence in a physician that did not show even a passing concern for a pregnant woman who had fallen. I would return and ask to see another doctor and tell them you would appreciate having your foot re-rayed, to see if perhaps a small fracture was missed during the first visit. Meanwhile, elevate the foot and use your ice/heating pad alternatively. Good luck with this....my cousin did the same exact thing and she had a torn tendon in her ankle......unfortunate carreer ending injury for a ballarena (sp?).
