Patty I had a Bichon once and no matter what we did he would not housebreak. Sweet dog though. I thought Pom's were yappy barkers. When I was looking this last time I did not want an aggressive barker like my last yorkie Kirby. So when I started considering a yorkie pom mix a bunch of people said I was crazy since both dogs were yappers and hyper. I did get a hyper dog in a good way because she is playful but she is so far from being a yapper I feel like a won the lottery LOL if I did not know better this might be one of those instances where I would suggest a mix

Really what you should do is talk to some local rescue groups to see if they have a young adult pup that might fit your needs, there are several good groups in your area.
