I had to put down my rescued Yorkie recently. He was only 8 and we really felt like we should have had a lot longer with him. We are ready to move on and get another dog but we have our hearts set on another Yorkie. I think that we prefer another male but we're not too picky. I don't think that we have too much preference about the age either. We adopted Iggy when he was six and he did great with us. We are a couple in our early 30's, live in a dog friendly apartment, have no children (and no plans for children). I work from home so I'm around quite a bit. I kept in contact with Iggy's old owners though a photobucket account I updated regularly and email. I would love to do the same for anyone else who is rehoming their pet. We are also not interested in breeding and would gladly sign a neuter contract. We live in Portland.
