To clarify what I meant: This is a four month old puppy and I would find it extremely unusual for him to have osteo or something like that. Perhaps the vet meant that the area where the fracture is is soft....that makes sense because I believe it is in the growth plates and that area is softer than other parts of the bones. That is why I expressed the concern that I did from the start. Puppies heal quickly and I do hope this one does and heals well.....often if a fracture is in the growth plate, if not corrected appropriately a deformity will occur.
I am also concerned that this vet said that this puppy can never have a normal life...playing and the like. I would be checking things out with the breeder for sure! This just sounds concerning to me.
OP, yes, welcome to YT. I hope that your puppy does very well with what this vet is doing and will be keeping him and you in my thoughts and prayers. It does concern me greatly, but I don't know anything about veterinary care in the UK. All I can hope and pray for is that this is a good idea for your puppy. Please keep us updated on his progress!
