That was because there was no urine in it at the time. If there was urine in it, the size would be much larger. All of the collection methods mentioned will work but will not give a sterile sample. Not sure why it is being done...but if a sterile sample is preferred, I would make an appointment in the early morning and not let her piddle before the appt...that way the vet could do a cysto.
