I think it would work for either, too. I would end up shortening the name almost immediately anyway (that's how lazy I am LOL). I'd call her Pic (Peak) or Cass..
My boy is named after my dad. His name is Shelby. Most think of that as a girl's name. My dad has survived almost 70 years with a "girl's name" so I figure my pup will be alright
