Welcome! I used baby gates and small puppy proof room instead of a playpen. I like that better because I have a tiny house, and don't have a lot of extra room in the house. I covered the floor with plastic then puppy pads on one side and rugs on the other to protect my flooring. then put her crate, toys, food, and water on the rugs. The down side would be you cant move a small room around with you through the house... If you get a pen make sure it has a top on it. my sister had a normal baby playpen for her morkie, and she jumped out.

You might want to get some chews too I like nylabones. Some people get bullysticks, but I think they stink even the "no odor" ones bother me. Avoid rawhide because it's a choking hazard and can cause intestinal blockages.
