I think the best thing to do with it being "that time of year" is to get the flea drops. That will kill the adults and the eggs. I would definitely wash everything as you are doing and vacuum again in a couple of days after the drops. The drops really are good for killing all of them in the house. I wouldn't spray anything. I just don't trust sprays even with bigger dogs..much less these littles.
