I usually do switches cold-turkey. It's never seemed to bother Jackson.
Also, you say you feed him 1/2 cup twice a day and he sometimes eats it sometimes doesn't... I think that seems a bit much... I know the bags often say that, but they seem to way over-estimate! He probably doesn't always eat it because he doesn't need it. Some 10lb'ers might, due to metabolism, etc, every dog is different. But my boy is 16lbs and I feed him 1/2 cupper day (each mix usually mixed with wet food) and he's very active. I will up it to 2/3 cup per day if he spends all day swimming. But if I was feeding him 1 cup a day, he'd be fat! lol |
