My only experience with it is very dated. We had a dog which I rescued when I was a kid that developed severe mange. My mother bathed him every day or two in an over the counter Hartz shampoo which for some reason I remember as sulfadine, but don't know for sure. It took a long time, but he was eventually cured. He was a young dog then and lived to be 18. Keep in mind this was the early 70s. So I'm guessing there must be some major advancements now. What did your vet recommend? I would think there is probably both shampoos and meds now.
