I think that is pretty normal. They do all have different personalities so you never know what you'll end up with as you will find that some are more independent while others are velcro yorkies.
That being said I think the majority of yorkie puppies do prefer playing. I've had a couple that as puppies they wanted nothing to do with me. I couldn't even hold them, they wanted nothing to do with it. By about a year old it changed. They are now the biggest cuddle babies and very attached. Puppies just want to have fun and being terriers they have lots of energy to spend.

Chihuahuas are lap dogs whereas yorkies are terriers so maybe that is why your chi's were always affectionate/needy even as pups, they don't have that playful, tenacious, energetic terrier personality.

I don't think you will have to worry about Bentley being indifferent to you once he matures, they do grow to be very attached and I've never had one that was indifferent to me as an adult.
