You don't want to train the dog? I guess that means you would rather punish it? There are two alternatives. You train a dog not to do bad behaviors or you can punish the dog when it does something you don't like. A dog that does not respond to word commands is not "trained." Spraying in the face is a punishment. I would rather not have to do something like that to my pet. Simple obedience training teaches a dog it's boundaries. If you are dealing with a dog that does not belong to you then you need to discuss it with the owner.
