I have one like that for travel and it works out pretty good. It fits well in the bottom of my luggage so it can be checked when flying. However at home I use an infant pack n play. I removed the bottom and replaced it with a wood insert the same size. Then stapled a heavy waterproof tarp so it could be cleaned . I do use puppy pads to cover the whole area but have plenty of room for a bed and food and water dish. The mesh holes are too small for them to get nails in for climbing or teeth for chewing. You do have to make sure that they are not big enough to jump out, trust me, broken legs are not fun or cheap. For my jumpers pet smart have x-pens with bars so they can't climb. I believe they come in 2 different heights. With mine I use the extra large puppy pads. 2 pads will cover the entire area. The pens are heavy enough to keep them weighted down. Plenty of room for a bed and food and water bowls.
