Socks aren't high on my list but I'm sure I'll give it a try one day. I'm excited about the class, will let you know how it goes. Maybe even take pictures

No they're easy, beginner's level. You will need to train your eyes where to put your hook through. Familiarize yourself first with the basic crochet techniques, abbreviations, and terminology. Does Kazzy crochet too? maybe she can show you, it's sort of hard to explain without a visual.
