It is true that even a spayed female will often have enough mother instincts that they will clean up another dog's babies. I raised many a litter of cats and dogs and have seen this happen on several occasions. We even had a male cat that would get in the box with the kittens and wash them and play with them. It's fine and as long as the adult has a true affection for the little one, there is no harm in it.. Once your pup gets older she will tell your female that she can handle things for herself. If it really bothers you of course there is no harm in trying to stop her. She is only trying to be helpful though.
