Yet another example of how not all vets are right up to date on procedures....especially where whelping and pregnancy is the topic. If you have a really good mentor that has been breeding Yorkies for many years, I will go out on a limb and say she probably can give you better direction than your vet, in some areas! You can listen to what she tells you, compare with your vet, let your vet know your mentor suggested doing something "this way" and WHY she does it that way, and see what the vet says....dont ever make your vet feel like you are challenging HIS knowledge...present it as a learning experience for YOU, not him!
