Ive had animals all my life. When I moved out the dogs stayed with my parents. So when my daughter was 3 (and potty trained) I started searching for a dog. I didnt care about the breed, just that I wanted a medium sized, medium haired, black dog. We were living in Alabama at the time and I went to the local shelter, there were plenty of dogs, but none that worked for our family. So we went home and I researched more on adoptapet.com and found a boxer-mix. I LOVE boxers, so I went to look at her and she just growled at my daughter, we were about to leave and I decided to walk around the place and we found Carley. I put the money down for her right away and 3 days later we picked her up. She was fixed and had her shots right away, so I didnt need to get anything done with her checkup for a yr.
With Joey, I wanted a small dog. Not a yorkie, because I had heard about how lippy they were. I walked into a pet store (BAD IDEA!!) and found one. He was so cute but the woman couldnt tell me anything about him. And, since I have been around animals all my life I knew he was probably a puppy mill guy and decided not to buy him. I went home and really felt attached to him..like I should get a yorkie. So I googled local breeders, made an appointment and went to check some out. Thennnn I was introduced to the Biewers. I'd never heard of them before so I did some research just to make sure I wasnt paying thousands for a mutt (nothing wrong with mutts, just dont want to pay tons for them). So I read about them online, knew their history, did a little research on the bloodline, and the parents of Joey (both are registered) and sent in my deposit...then I had to wait 2 months!
