She was totally fine when I left for work this morning and I came home at lunch (4 hrs later) and she was a little puffy again and a little purplish skin. After home a few minutes I looked again and puffiness had gone away, but skin was still purple. Right before I left to come back to work I looked again and totally back to normal. I'm going to try and get her into the vet tonight or at least hopefully tomorrow. She did eat all the food in her bowl and drank some water. If the vet wants a urine sample, how would I go about doing that so I can take it with me? |
Hi Karen, I don't think it sounds dumb. It does coincide with the timing. I would definitely ask the vet..maybe her blood pressure is going up because she is anxious/stressed that you are gone.
As for getting a urine sample, I can tell you how others have said to do it - however, I have yet to have success with Mandie (my own fault - she is not used to walking on a leash and to "catch" her, I have to leash her so then she won't "go" lol).
You can get a soup ladle (can tie/tape a long stick to the handle to make it longer if needed) and walk Heidi on leash and "catch" the pee in the ladel.
You could also try to turn her pee pads upside down so when she pees, it just pools instead of getting absorbed.
