That totally sounds how my big old boy acted when I brought blazer home. Scared, standoffish, bothered, and only mildly curious when the new pup was asleep. They are the absolute best of friends now and you never could guess that they had issues in the beginning. It took a little while- a week or two, before Buddy relented and decided this bothersome pup was here to stay. Give your girls time, it'll all work out. Make sure you still give Sparkle lots of love and attention. Give her treats when you hold her and Ruby comes close- she'll learn very quickly to be a good girl with the baby.
