Huey is exactly like this. He finally quit jumping on our laps in the bathroom (dh broke him of that), but now he brings gifts of toys...one after the other...the whole time we are indisposed. He is more attached physically to me, but as soon as dh comes home from work, he jumps to the highest surface available (usually the top of the recliner) and stares at his daddy adoringly until he gets attention; then my velcro dog is back on my hip. He is distraught whenever left alone. The 2 hours between when his daddy leaves for work and I get home from work are apparently excrutiating for him as he is waiting on top of the recliner watching the front door as I come home, and if I am late, he does that horrible high pitched squeel that means "OMG! I THOUGHT YOU LEFT ME FOREVER!!!"
