From a man's point of view, if I may, if you must and you can, don't think about twice. You will regret it if you didn't.
OTH, when you do, be prepare to live with a new public perception, warranted or not, even your own family will somehow change how they feel about you, not necessarily a bad thing.
In my circle of friends, one acquaintance could have never imagined how much her life would change to the point, by her own admission, she found herself almost a complete new life with many new situations. Some good some NOT so good. The positive boost to her confidence was, at times, too much to handle.
As soon as We can afford it I will enjoy a few "minor" modifications done to my wife. She would love them and I know I would definitely enjoy them
