I agree with the posters who say try and distract them with a treat
But it's going to be hard
I know because I have a similar situation when I need to go out and pack the car when I go out
when I take the laundry out I usually do errands and I will take my two dogs with me
They LOVE being in the car
and They will get all excited when they see me getting the laundry bags ready
I will pack the car but return for them after
But when I first go down and leave them ...... I feel so bad they scream and cry as if they have their paws in a bear trap
