Hot wires are not the same as electric fences...just FYI. It's only one strand and voltage can be adjusted to a very low setting for small animals or a very high one for cattle/horses. Plus, an electric fence will send a (high) current as long as there is contact whereas hot wires only send quick, short burst...a very low voltage, quick shock vs a higher voltage contant.
