Cathy, if you have wet conditions in your backyard, I would suspect that giardia could be the issue. While you can treat it with metronidazole, panacur is better. Also, it is hard to pick up on fecals. The best way is for a very fresh specimen to be examined under the microscope. Your vet could do that without sending it out.
