I don't know what you call it in the US. It's the soft fluffy stuff on the end of Q-tips. You can buy it in bags for taking off makeup, you just rip off a piece. Its like a cotton cloud.
Sorry, I hope that helps. When it gets wet, it absorbs the water. It is perfect for wiping delicate areas.
