that idea is really the best, but for sentimental reasons I was thinking that perhaps you wanted to use your daughter's jeans. When you are sewing for these small dogs the cost of the fabric is not really that much money and sewing with new fabric will be easier. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
When it comes to old material, I am kicking myself that less than a year ago I threw out my wedding dress, it was covered with bling but since I was not planning on having kids I did not preserve it, after 22 years it was starting to yellow, but it would have been fine to cut up for some harness outfits, and it would have been sentimental to boot, but it's in a landfill now
