Absolutely you can! It sounds like you are off to a great start. Although I did not have Jack in a belly band, we had trained him to go on the "paper" (pee pad) but we successfully trained him to go outside well after he was 2 years old. Keep consistent and when he goes outside give him lots of praise and treats even! Another thing - I always give a command - I usually say, go potty or go pee pee. And I still give praise to him (or our newest addition Izzy) when he comes in. Good luck to you.
