Nope, not too early. The earlier, the better (in my humble opinion!) Please tell me that you are using a harness on your baby though, and not attaching the leash to the collar. Anyway, once the leash is attached to the harness let your baby walk around with it on (keep a close eye, though, so that he doesn't get caught on anything.) He'll soon realize that the leash won't hurt him. Also, treats are helpful- reward him for good behavior. =) Blazer was never scared of his leash but he would, at first, bite at it. I see many dogs- full grown- that go for walks and have to be biting the leash, as if they are walking themselves. It's pretty amusing to see. =)
