Ive always been one to jump on the gotta try that dog food because so and so is using it bandwagon and have always gone back to science diet. It is the only food that my dogs do well on. The only issue I had with SD was that my dogs would get stinky and would need baths more often, but now that they have reformulated their foods thats not an issue anymore. I also use fresh pet chicken and rice dog food rolls as a topper and a treat.

My new puppy Nahla came to us eating Purina puppy chow. I tried switching her over to a different food and she gets the runs. When I took her to the vets for her check up, her vet, one that I trust and have had for many years asked what I was feeding her she said that its a fine food, thousands of dogs grew up on it with very few issues. So untill she can tolerate something a little better she will stay on Purina, if she cant ever make that switch over than she will remain on Purina products.

I will continue to feed my dogs what they do best on, not what others feel is best for them.

If Acana is working for your pup then I would keep him on it!
