I like to feed mine more meat at the end of a pregnancy. The last 2-3 weeks are when the pups do most of their growing. That takes a LOT out of the Mom.

I usually keep some chicken leg quarters on hand and also some beef liver and alternate between the 2 (I boil the chicken and liver). The chicken should be de-boned and skinned before feeding it. The liver is very nutrient dense but can be a little rich for some, especially if fed every day.

Your friend should feed her about 1 1/2 to 2 times her normal feeding at this time. The girl may not have a big appetite for a lot at one time so it may have to be broken down into several smaller meals.
