Sometimes it may take a while for a young one to get used to walking on a leash. Are you using a harness on him? Try walking him just short distances or if you have a yard then practice in the yard where he is familiar with the area. I'm sorry I didn't notice where you are from but if it is cool outside he may want you to carry him because he is feeling cold. Yorkies don't have an insulating coat like other dogs do and many of them tend to get cold easily.
If he is a healthy little guy he will gradually work up to being able to go longer distances with you. Just take it slow until he is feeling more confident. Strollers are nice things for when you are out in a very public area with a lot of people around. It keeps them safe and if it is hot out their feet are protected from being burned on the hot ground or pavement.
Yorkies are usually energetic little dogs and need the exercise that a walk can give them. Once he is more confident he should do great. |
