Thank you Thank you all. The only thing that I can do at this point (other than having dug up the one in our backyard, actually my hubby did), is to try and educate others. I only wish I had run across something about it, somewhere, sometime. "If" is a huge word, though and there is no going back now. I do want to let others know so that no pet will have to suffer like Roxie did or that no family will have to suffer such as we have. My male yorkie, Bear, is still grieving for her at times I think. It may sound crazy, but sometimes I can tell that he is. It seems he has a faraway look in his eyes. Please pass this on to anyone you know that has these wicked plants. We had ours for fifteen years and no problem, but then there was that one incident and unfortunately that is all it takes. The seeds are the most poisonous and I still worry that there might be one in our yard or a squirrel could bring one from somewhere else. I have heard of that, too. |
