That should work for long distances but for when his is being held that would be difficult to do. When my pups were in their biting stage I would wrap my three fingers around their mussel and give them a gentle tap on the part sticking out plus by their Name & NO Bite . Most of forece from the tap was to the front of my hand but still they got the point and stopped. If they didn't than they were put down and not picked up again until they were calm. Even if we had to repeat it 5=6 times. However long it took until they stopped. If it continued they went to their cage for a time out.
