 First time posting - doxepin for Yorkie
Hi - this is my first time posting. My dog, Max, is getting up in years (he's about 13 now) and is having anxiety problems. I have tried chamomile tea (soaking his treats in it) which he loves and calming treats but he is now getting up several times each night thinking it's time for breakfast. He starts getting agitated about 4:00 pm. I have taken him to the vet and the vet thinks he might have thyroid problems which I will discuss the blood test result Monday or Tuesday with the vet. I have read that doxepin is good for dogs with anxiety and wonder if anyone has any experience they would like to share. I am very leery of xanax or prosac but understand doxepin is less likely to have side effects. Thanks for any advice! |
