I also use a bell. Taught her to tap the bell by holding her paw to tap it, then go outside and say potty. My older 7 year old has done it since he was a puppy. Ever since she was a pup, we've been doing this. She's a year now, and works great. Just have to be consistent at first. She's a year old now. Good luck. I use a jingle bell hanging on a string. Size is a walnut.
