Default 9 mo. Yorkie/maltese w/ ALT 498-food reccomendation

I picked up a little yorkie mix about a wk. ago. She came from a family that could not even afford a vet appt. for health check. She is very tiny (3.6 lbs) and lived w/ small children which, of course, is never a good idea. I immediately made an appt. and asked for blood work since she just appears so skinny, although asymptomatic. Her ALT is: 498. That got my immediate attention. Vet wants to do a recheck in a month after she has been on a low-protein diet. I'm not sure I want to wait that long or even where I should began her testing....K-State or U of Tenn.? A concern I have is that she is only 9 months old. She needs minerals and vitamins to develop. RC Hepatic is low in copper. A puppy needs that. Anyone have any suggestion on what to feed a puppy who has possible LS?

Additional info: Her name is Eva. She has not had a rabies shot nor is she spayed. They are now at the bottom of my to-do list until I find out more about her health. I was going to send her on to a rescue but I'm not sure that is such a good idea at this point. My dh says we need to keep her to make sure she is taken care of. Not sure I can handle another sick baby. Feel like I've had enough. ~Joanne~
