Columbo turned 9 last October. He had LP/torn ACL surgery on his first leg last May and then again on the other leg in September. He did great with both. The second took a little longer than the first to recover, but the vet said that is normal. The first leg was a breeze to recover from. The first few days are the hardest, then rehab starts slowly after that. He is back to 100% now. We don't regret having the surgery and would do it again. If you can use a board certified experienced surgeon, it is worth it. I attribute that to Columbo's easy recovery. They spelled out everything step by step for us and were there for support the whole way. $1500 a leg sounds quite affordable. Columbo's were $3000 per leg. |
