I can only say that the stitch job is the worst and most unprofessional I have ever seen. Most vets don't even use that type of material for incisions anymore. Most do an invisable stitch with a self absorbing material. I think you are wise if you choose to use another vet clinic. It seems they may have been bringing up the weight issue in order to avoid talking about their very poor incision care.

Just make sure your pup is eating the recommended amount for her age and size according to what your pet food company advises. If she feels extremely boney yet is eating as much as she should then you may want to seek the advise of a good vet. I would avoid the place that did the spay if at all possible. I would hate to think of what they would do to a sick pet that needed emergency surgery.
