The reason I know of Spokane is cause my parents live over near Bremerton and I also have family that live in Okanogan and Tri-cities. I had an arguement once with a teacher who misspoke Spokane, called it Spo-cane.

I wonder if it depends on what major city you are in. We had the raw beef sandwich when we were in Frankfurt.

People not familiar with our city do pronounce it that way . . . I was one of them until I finally moved!
