Default Should I get rid of the play pan?

Our Yorkie is 21 weeks old and I would say is 100% potty trained to go on the wee wee pads inside the apartment (last week has gone on the pad 100% of the time). We are considering getting rid of the play pan and just letting him roam around the living room, hallway, and kitchen (we live in a 1 bedroom apartment) when we are away.

Now a days, when either of us is home, we open the play pan and he wonders around, plays, sleeps, and also urinates on the wee wee pads outside his play pan. Folding the play pan would save a lot of space in our living room.

He does not have access to our bedroom yet. He does not whine at night, does not bark, does not have separation anxiety, does not bite, and listens to our commands.

Thanks...
