try opening your file with mspaint in the accessories folder of your start menu. then go to "image" --> "stretch/skew" and put in identical percentages for horizontal and vertical (ie 50, 50) which would reduce the file by 1/2. also, if you save it as a .bmp, bmp files take up much much more space than a .jpg, so try going to save as and saving it as a .jpg file type if it is not already one. hope this helps
