My adopted boy has come a long way from being a new and shiny mess of nervousness here in our home to a more trusting version of himself. He's been with us since mid November (4 months) and he's learned basic manners and protocol (for his safety), however he's still that little feral canine about food. He has a lot of trust for me and keeps me in eye view at all times, but not sure he has a love for me. He's not a cuddly dog unless he's tired and he generally looks unto me (and the other humans in the fam as well) to tend to his needs. He's playful with us and enjoys our company but doesn't know how to enjoy or receive a kiss unless he's giving them. As well as cuddling...he turns it into play time. It's hard to explain. He is bonding, but it's slow...tho most people wouldn't know it by looking at the way he is with me (us), I do feel it. It's to be expected I'm sure. He is the first dog I have adopted as an adult so the difference between raising a pup and adopting a full grown canine is apparent. It makes no difference to me how long he needs till he's incorporated into the fold. He's here to stay and it'll only get better with time.
