Oh Diane, you're describing Harry to perfection....
He 'guards'
us from the top of the sofa, where he can see into our Close and out into our garden. When he sees 'the enemy' he 'sees them off', of course
When I've had enough, I say "Enough, Harry"....and he stops what he's doing, looks round straight at me and into my eyes, and does TWO more barks
At that point I stand up - and he takes off running up the stairs, as though I've been beating him
And then he sits at the top of the stairs, peering round the banister, waiting for me to resume what I was doing so he can get back to his main job....guarding his mummy!!!!
