At first I think it's easier to use treats, esp if the pup hasn't gotten to know or trust you entirely yet. Food is usually a good motivator. But use hand and voice commands, lead the nose with the treat and the body will follow. Be careful not to give too many treats though, with yorkie puppies being so tiny, you don't want to fill up their bellies with treats, then meal time will be difficult. I trained with regular kibble at mealtimes and it worked well for Uni and also my fosters. They will be hungry so will be willing to listen for the food. Uni didn't get a "treat" treat until she was probably 2 yrs old.

Uni now knows all her commands by voice only, or hand only. She also knows several commands in Viet.
