Not silly. Your girl could hate having a packmate or dearly love it. My Jilly simply refused to accept a puppy I got her as a playmate - one that grew larger than she and kept harassing her and she went on a hunger strike, lost hair, chewed her ankles and wouldn't leave the top of the back of the couch. She got quite thin before I rehomed the puppy and then she returned to her normal life, gained weight, hair and stopped OCD chewing her ankles. My Tibbe on the other hand would likely overpower another dog with unending love and play. Just go with what you think will be best for your dog and if you get it wrong, with a Yorkie, while it is far from ideal, it is possible to, in time, find a wonderful situation if you need to rehome a young puppy.
An older second dog might not accept the two home changes in a short time as well as a puppy will, so consider the situation of any second dog you might choose to get. It could seriously psychologically set back the fragile psyche of an older dog to have to be rehomed again soon if your dog doesn't accept him or her.
