That's pretty much the same situation in Texas. If someone breaks into you house, and you can shot them as long as they are inside you house is not against law because you protecting yourself, family, and home and are fear of your life. And I have seen alot of cases lately on the news were people have been attacked and they have protected there selfs with a gun they were carrying. As long as you have a permit and you shot someone and it is self defense, I don't think they punish you for it, but I really don't know for sure.
