I had a scare last summer. Mine were out sunbathing and when I went to check on them about 5 minutes later, I almost burnt my hands on their coats! Mine are all in full coat. I dug my fingers under the hair to check the temps of their skin and they were all cool. Tink wasn't so hot bc she is light colored, but the other three have dark coats and their coats absorbed all the heat from the sun. So from now on, I put lightweight, light-colored clothes on them for the summer, as the light colors reflect the sun, and the clothing also protects the coats from sun damage. |
